Assistant Education Secretary Alexa Posny to Give Remarks, Join Discussion at “Autism Speaks: A Conversation with Families and federal and State Policy Makers”

U.S. Assistant Secretary for the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) Alexa Posny will give remarks and participate in a discussion on best practices and funding for educating students with autism. Posny will start the discussion by sharing Department initiatives to support research and best practices in autism. “Autism Speaks: A Conversation with Families with Federal and State Policymakers” will take place Monday, Sept. 26 at St. Joseph’s College in West Hartford, Conn. The event is being hosted by the Connecticut Chapter of Autism Speaks and U.S. Rep. John Larson.

The meeting will provide families as well as federal and state policy makers the opportunity to share ideas and information on how to enhance services and support to individuals diagnosed with autism and their families within existing resources.
