U.S. Department of Education Assistant Deputy Secretary Jim Shelton will give opening remarks at Improving Arts Learning through Standards & Assessment: A National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Research Roundtable, on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the Old Post Office Pavillion in Washington, D.C. This event marks the first time that the NEA will host a comprehensive discussion of this issue and highlight a new research report, Improving the Assessment of Student Learning in the Arts: State of the Field and Recommendations.
Following the welcome, a series of panels and presentations will examine the latest trends, current practices and future directions for arts learning standards and assessment methods.
